Artistic Events

One of the prime ideals of the corporation is the support of the arts. The words ‘In Arte Voluptas’ - ‘Pleasure lies in the Arts’ - are predominantly displayed in the clubhouse. In the true send of Give and Take AMS plans various artistic events throughout the year:

Talented members of ASM have formed the rock-band ‘GHO’, named after the Great Horned Owl, the embodiment of wisdom and Schlaraffia’s values. The band performs regularly at private and public events, fundraisers, and community events.
Upon availability the company invites an accomplished artist for an evening performance. Invitations are sent out through email and printed and social media. Tickets to attend the concerts are sold in advance.
Vernissage: Young local artists exhibit their work at the ASM clubhouse to members and invited guests. Attendees have the opportunity to acquire artwork at an early stage of an artist’s creative phase.
Painting Class: Members and friends are invited to join a painting class, directed by a professional artist. In a casual atmosphere they learn the art of painting by copying an original artwork selected by the artist.
Photo Contest: This contest is open for non-professional photographers who register for the contest. For a nominal entry fee each contestant submits a letter size print and a dated electronic file of the photo, which follows the theme and description ASM has stipulated in the rules for the contest. A jury shall select the winner, who shall receive a travel prize.
